Q. I was wondering what kind of custom work you do. Is it possible to get my own design on the cover of one of your books? If so, how do I to send you the design I want?
A. We can do custom work of any kind. E-mail us anything you have in mind (we only accept jpg format) and we will put your design on the cover of the book of your choice. You can choose a color of leather, size of the book, amount of pages, number of bookmarks; you can choose bookmarks to be done with ribbons or leather. You can also mix and match any of our already existing designs.
Q. I don't know much about the Post Binding method. How long will a Post Bound book last? Will the posts need to be replaced over time?
A. Our post binding method allows you to remove or add pages in the book by unscrewing the steel posts that hold it together. We only use steel posts, so you will never have to replace them. We do not use aluminum posts, because they break sometimes. Our Books (both hardbound and post bound) are designed to last for centuries. This is simply because we use only natural materials and fibers; along with our own patented method our books become even stronger as they age. We designed them for heavy usage; you can use it for your entire life and pass it on to future generations.
Q. Will a post bound book open and operate just as a hard bound book?
A. Yes, it will open, lay flat and operate just like a hard bound book.
Q. How long does it take from time of my payment till you ship it? We usually need 4-6 weeks to ship the book, please remember that more complicated designs may take up to 12 weeks, but we always have some books in stock that are ready for immediate shipping. To find out which books are available for immediate dispatch please click on the following link or go to the Ready to Ship category in the Product Catalog on our Home page.
Q. What is so special about your leather? What kind of leather you use?
A. Our leather is imported directly from Italy. Each hide is hand selected for our special, whole natural (no chemicals being used) oil dyeing process, purposely done for our books. This centuries old method insures that our books will last for many generations to come, and the older book gets the more potent and beautiful it becomes. We only use cow hides and for more intricate designs we use calf hides. |
